The NIHR Research Design Service North East (RDS NE) is one of ten regional services that make up the national NIHR Research Design Service.  The North East team is comprised of experienced practising researchers with expertise in all aspects of health services research methodology including qualitative research, epidemiology and statistics, health economics, systematic reviewing, clinical trials and social care research.

The team supports applied health and social care researchers from across the North East region to develop high quality research proposals for submission to NIHR and other national, peer-reviewed funding competitions.

Our service is free of charge
The North East team work from Newcastle and Durham Universities and South Tees NHS Foundation Trust though are able to travel regionally. Face-to-face advice is available, supported by correspondence by telephone and email.  We can also offer meetings by skype and video conferencing when time is limited.  As part of a national service, we adhere to the RDS Charter.
